Happy Bank holiday everyone!
It’s nearly May, which means it’s nearly Triathlon season – and it’s time to get excited. The first open water Tri of the season is Sunday 7th May at the Cotswold Water Park – good luck Pete and all those planning an early bird dip in the lake!
Firstly Congratulations Steve who conquered the 105 mile sportif cycle up 4 different Whitehorse Hills last weekend…. and congratulations Sean who has gone for it and entered IRON MAN Zurich! – You are both amazing.
We have the events starting to come in thick and fast now – do check the event’s page on this website. On the 7th May it is the Cotswold Super Sprint Triathlon (TriFerris)… also on the TriFerris website the September Cotswold Sprint is now also open for entries:
http://www.triferris.com/cotsuper/index.html
Also on the 7th May is the Blenheim 7k. Don’t forget we have a team set up – so if you’d like to have a go please enter as part of the Lower Windrush TriHard Team when you buy your entry on line.
This is followed closely by the Banbury Triathlon on the 21st May and then the Westonbirt Tri on the 29th. Blenheim Triathlon weekend is the 3rd June and then on the 4th June is the 113.
Training plans are detailed below – but now is the time to get into the open water and also to start the brick sessions (putting the bike/run together) – I will be organising a bike/run every Friday morning through May – hope you may be able to join me? Jon is planning one this Saturday. (Check out the training plans below). Please do email me on emma@turniton.co.uk if you would like any advice on getting started.
Most importantly – HUGE good luck to Kirsty (who is not doing the Super-sprint this year) because next week her baby is due. We will all be thinking of you Kirsty and can’t wait to see pictures on Facebook. No doubt we will see you back in a wet suit by September for the Cotswold Sprint.. and you’ll still beat us all!
