If you need a reminder of the year’s happennings.. then please do look back at all the Club Update Posts on the TriHard.org website….

Alternatively I have written a, very brief, synopsis below (please excuse typos.. but the spell check is not working on my computer!!):

Swimming

Awesome swimming this year – from our Seniors Jo and Steve who have taken many medals at regional competions and set at least three new Club records at Witney District swim club…

Even more awesome from Juniors: Ella and Henry Purcell…. super swimmmers who are now swimmming 3+ times a week… Henry has smashed his way through countless PB’s this year, broken many club records (even one that had stood for nealry 40 years!) and now sits as one of the fastest in his age group in the Country particularly for his back stroke and front crawl.. AMAZING swimming.

Cycling

Steve started us off with a 100 mile sportif in April….

then in September Wai, Jon H, Laura, Steve and Pete all blasted through the Wiggle Cotswold Sportif – GREAT cycling!

Running

Wow what a lot of running…. made even better this year by the start of the Witney Park run in March.

Massive to congrats to all who have been regularly… and special shout out to the regular park run kids: Lockwood Kids, Purcell Kids… and Easterbrooks… MOst notably Elias and Edgar who are storming the park run and it won’t be long before Edgar achieves a sub 20 minute run (SUPER😎)

The year started with Kirsty taking on the Devon Coastal Half in February.

IN March Edgar E started his season off with a win at an interschool cross country championship.

Rosie and George took on the Hampton Court Half Marathon.

Andy ran his own half marathon around Standlake after the Reading half was cancelled due to snow!

In April – Andy G, Celina and Emma took on the Southampton marathon

May 2018 – The Blenheim 7k – saw the triHards take best team trophy.  George was first trihard with Edgar not far behind (32 minutes) – Great running. Eddie Archibald won the triHard 1 mile at the event in a time of 7 minutes and 2 secs.. well done all the children who took part.

June – Jon H achieves Race to the King in 13 hours

July – Jon H achieves Race to the Stones in 15 hours… EPIC

October – Snowdon Marathon.. Jon H completes and George comes 4th.. brilliant… and Rosie and Emma complete the half marathon.

Also in October – Andy sets a new triHard record at the Oxford Half (1 hour 37 mins and 32 secs).. Emma limps round with sore quads!

NOvember – Eysnham Kids 1 mile… well done Lockwood kids (Embry, Ebony and Zebebee), Rhys and Abbie Coates.. and Jack Deeker comes in 3rd place.

Triathlon

April – Steve kicked off the season in Bicester Tri and came in 2nd place.

Junior Triathlon – Ella Henry Purcell, as members of Bicester tri club have completed a whole season of races… April – September.. including several tri with an open water swim… super stars of the future.

May – Cotswold Super Sprint – Pete P took on the first open water tri of the season.

Later in May we also saw Emm and Steve enter Banbury Tri (Steve 4th PLace).. follwoed by a Lower Windrush team once again taking onWestonbirt Triathlon… Laura and Andy G both achieved PB’s

June:

Blenheim: Andy G took on his first open water swim triathlon.. and blasted it in 1 hour 28 mins.. AMAZING.  Kirsty was 1st in her age group… super star.. Steve was 6th and I was about 6th too I think!

113 – Great stuff.. Sean and Dave once again took on the big one and shashed throught this half Iron distance tri.

Cotswold Ladies Sprint – Emma and Kirsty wore the trihard colours.  Kirsty came  2nd.  She smashed a PB and completed in 1 hour 9 mins.

September – Season finale tri at Eton Dorney – Emma and Kirsty took it on… again Kirsty was 2nd female overall.. amazing.

Circuits

It has been another incredible year at circuits… thank you Jon for all the crazy exercises.  Well done to all of you have made it along this year!
