Club Update and Training Plans for the Week of Saturday 23rd February

Happy Half Term! Hope everyone has had a great week.

Please note that Circuits is cancelled on Friday 22nd February – It’s half term and there are very few people about!

TeamKit:  The new tri suits and running tops are now available to order.  

Trisuits are available in sleeveless(£110) or short sleeved(£125) this year.

Running tops are available in Mens, Ladies and children’s sizes (£28).

Oxford Half Marathon, Don’t forget to enter the ballot by the 1st March.  If you are unsuccessful in the ballot then you can apply for a charity place. AND PARK RUN : meet at 8.50am at the West Witney Sports and Social Club.

Sunday 24th February SWIM 

8am Witney pool (Windrush Better Leisure Centre). Meet in the pool village changing rooms just before 8am for some lane swimming.

Or evening swim : 8.30 pm Witney Better Leisure Centre.

Tuesdays : 7.30pm Spinning at the Windrush Leisure Centre in Witney.  Call to book a place on the class.

Friday 1st March : Circuits training will be on. Standlake Village hall.  6.30 pm.   £1.50 for adults and children age 12 and over. (under 12’s are free but must be accompanied)

It’s been a great week for the swimmers. Well done Henry Purcell who swam another PB in the 100m back stroke – he is now officially the fastest 10 year old in the Country by 1 second!

Open Water Swimming:  It is time to renew your membership with the West Oxon Sailing Club – to enjoy another season of limitless swimming!  Renewing is simple – just visit the website – login in the box on the top right of the page and follow the prompts to renew.  If you are not a member but interested to join – then visit the website and take a look at the Membership page:

Club Update and training plans for the week of Saturday 9th Feb

The snow may have destroyed the plans for the Trihards to head to Devon for the Coastal Marathon – but the snow was enjoyed, the sledging took on a new level on Faringdon Folly Hill – I hope you all managed to get out and enjoy the show!


Team Kit: The new order for team kit will be placed in the next couple of weeks so that we have kit ready for the Blenheim 7k on the 28th April.. and in time for the tri season. As soon as I have received confirmation of new prices I will post on the website and email all members – so watch this space!

Happy February everyone and I hope you are enjoying the snow!  Take care out there if you are still trying to run or cycle!

Good luck this weekend those who do manage the trip to Devon for the Coastal Half – unfortunately the weather has messed up best laid plans and I for one will not be racing tomorrow – It is a big shame… but I shall make up for it with a 7am village run as normal.. followed by some training in the gym in Witney!

It’s the Standlake Village Market this Saturday (2nd) in the village hall from 11am – 1pm.  Head down for some local produce and a catch up over a cup of tea and slice of cake!
