Open Water Swimming

As the Water start to warm up we start to think about getting back into the lake for a bit of Open Water Swimming. At last measurement the temperature was only 9 degrees! I will keep you updated … but at the moment I am proposing Sunday 14th April for the first Early Bird Swim of the Season! A date for your diaries

Saturday 30th March

Village Run – Meet 6.30 am Standlake Post Office! An early run to join Jon on an off road adventure. There will be options to make the run shorter. But the full loop, if you dare, is 14 miles.

AND PARK RUN : meet at 8.45am at the West Witney Sports and Social Club.

Sunday 24th March SWIM 

8am Witney pool (Windrush Better Leisure Centre). Meet in the pool village changing rooms just before 8am for some lane swimming.

Or evening swim : 8.30 pm Witney Better Leisure Centre.R

Tuesdays : 7.30pm Spinning at the Windrush Leisure Centre in Witney.  Call to book a place on the class.

Wednesdays: Lunchtime Swim – can anyone get out for a lunch swim in Witney? If so meet at the pool between 12.30 and 1 pm. The Pool is open for lane swimming until 1.30pm

Friday 5th April : Circuit training. Standlake Village hall.  6.30 pm.   £1.50 for adults and children age 12 and over. (under 12’s are free but must be accompanied)

Club Update and Training Plans for the week of Saturday 23rd March

Well done half marathon runners: Last weekend Andy G smashed the Reading Half marathon. And George doubly smashed the Fleet Half. Brilliant running in very windy conditions!

Circuits Friday 22nd March will start at the earlier time of 6.15pm – Hope to see you there.

Parkrun this weekend – lots of us are heading to Witney parkrun on Saturday 23rd. Meet outside the social club at 08:45 – it will be lots of fun and the weather is just right!

Sunday 24th March there is a ‘run for kids’ this Sunday– we will be practising our 1 mile run and meeting at the Cricket Club Car park on the abingdon road at 3pm. Everyone is welcome – adult helpers are appreciated and all children aged 6 and under must be accompanied by an parent. The session will finish at 3.45pm
