Club Update and training plans for the week of Saturday 28th Sept

How extraordinary to go from such a wonderful week of weather to such a terrible one!

Massive congratulations to all who battled the  Longworth 10k on Sunday 22nd in torrential rain! It was lots of fun and definitely one for next year. Andy G was first triHard home.. with Steve close on his heels. It was brilliant to see such a large group of runners from Standlake there – and our TriHard T shirts definitely stood out!

The training plans continue this week with Circuits in the village hall Fridays 6.30pm. Tonight (28th) it’s a pulse raiser with Jon.

There is a group swim this Saturday at 7am, or, for a group run – Jon is leading a 9 miler on the ridgeway starting at Ardington. Email Jon for more info. j_hardy5@sky.com. Don’t forget if you go to the group swim – you can fit in the Witney park run too!

Lastly, Save the Date: Friday 15th November will be the Annual trihard Awards Night!

Or Witney Park Run. Meet at 8.45 am West Witney Sports Club

Sunday 29th September  : Half marathon training run – meet 7.50 am in the Cricket Club car park. Run in loops and make it a 6 mile, 9 mile or 12 mile loop – it’s up to you!

Tuesdays : 9.30am Spinning at the Windrush Leisure Centre in Witney.  Call to book a place on the class.

Wednesdays: Lunchtime Swim – can anyone get out for a lunch swim in Carterton? If so meet at the pool between 12.30 and 1 pm. The Pool is open for lane swimming until 1.30pm

Friday 4th October: Circuit Training Standlake Village Hall. £1.50 per adult and children 12 years and over. Younger children are welcome and free of charge but need to be accompanied. This week will be core stability with Emma.

What a glorious week of weather for cycling, running and swimming!

Massive congratulations to Steve and George last weekend in the Oxford Triathlon at Berinsfield… Both smashed the Olympic distance course. George was the first trihard home, Steve was first in his age group.

This weekend is the Longworth 10k (Sunday 22nd) It’s not too late to enter.. and entries are also possible on the day.. check out the website at:

The usual village run at 7am (Standlake Post Office) will be short this weekend – in preparation for the 10k race the next day!

Club Update and Training Plans for the Week starting Saturday 14th September

Wow, a lot has happened since the last club up date (apologies for the lack of news last week but the site was hacked.... thank you Graeme for sorting it out).

On the 31st August Jon Hardy finished the CCC – a 100 km epic ultra marathon in the Alps. A massive and incredible result well done Jon.. we look forward to see what his next challenge brings. Congratulations Sean who completed the New Forest Half Iron man the same weekend… and then last weekend was the Cotswold Sprint – Kirsty took part and was 5th lady overall and second in her age group – Awesome!

Saturday 14th. Village Run. Meet 7am Standlake Village Post Office. The run will be short and to the sailing club lake for a swim around the lake at 7.15 am and then a run home! (non members of the sailing club must be signed in by a member)

Or White horse run : Meet at the Whitehorse hill NT car park 7am

Sunday 15th September  : OPEN WATER SWIM. Meet for the sailing club swim at 8.30 am – 10.30 am. Non members must be signed in by a member

Or: Training Run for the Oxford Half: Meet 8am at the Cricket Club car park for a 12 mile run to the Swan Inn in Radcot for Breakfast. Breakfast needs to be preordered… for more information contact emma on emma@turniton.co.uk
