Club Update and Weekly Training Plans for the Week of Saturday 28th January

Dear All

I am writing my first post straight onto the new website – It’s very exciting!  As usual there will be a bit of news first, with training plans at the end of the Newsletter!

Firstly thank you Andy G and Graeme for this great site – I hope everyone is starting to use it.  I love it! The Events page is fabulous – you can browse events and click on the ones that you have entered so that others can see who is going.

Talking of Events: The Blenheim 7km Run (with kids 1 mile Fun run) is open for entries:

Please note that the date is actually SUNDAY 7th May (not the 14th as advertised on our Events page.. (Andy please can we change this??!).  This does mean that is clashes with Jon’s epic Welsh 3000 mountain adventure… which is a pity.  But, as with everything TriHard, we can’t  always do everything!

But if you are not signed up to join Jon on his two day trek up 14 peaks with rough camping… then the Blenheim 7k is for you!  It is a lovely fun run suitable for all ages and abilities and there is a 1 mile run for kids too.  To enter please click on the ‘Home‘ link below and follow the instructions (Don’t forget to click on the event too on our ‘events page’ to let others know that you are doing it!)

Last year we entered a TriHard team into the 7k… and we came first (got a lovely little trophy).  If you are keen to do this again please let me know asap and I will set up a team again (email  me on my usual email address emma@turnioton.co.uk):

Home

Circuits is back to the usual time tonight of 6.30pm in the Village Hall.  Hope to see you all there.  There will be a run as usual on Saturday morning at 7.30am from the PostOffice and we shall attempt the Windrush Path to the Thames and run back from Northmoor.

To follow Jon’s Iron Man training plans don’t forget you can also view the TriHard Face book Page:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/310447515760978/

There is a link straight to this facebook group at the bottom of our Website home page!  There is also a New TriHards Twitter Feed!! I have absolutely no idea what this means… one thing at a time (I need another lesson Andy!)

Anyone with a dog will love this article (Dogs are so much better at running than us humans and this explains why!):

7 Ways My Dog is a Better Runner than Me

Take care out there everyone on the ice – stay safe and run and cycle indoors on treadmills if you can !  Hope to see you all soon.

Club Update and Training Plans for the week Saturday 21st January

Dear All

First of all, I can’t quite believe it is the 20th January! I hope you are taking it easy out there in these icy and foggy conditions!?

Welcome Ed to the Trihard mailing list – we hope to meet you soon.

As usual the training plans are at the end of this email… but a few notices first:

Firstly please note again that Circuits this evening is at the slightly earlier time of 6pm – 7pm in the Standlake Village hall.  All welcome, entry £1

Secondly.. BIG NEWS on the development of the website.  The New TriHard website is ready to launch!  This means that my weekly email is going to be a thing of the past very soon!

Instead I shall upload my weekly news letter and training plans to the new website each week.  The good thing being that you can all interact with the site instead of using email. The Website will become a forum for meeting up and sharing training so hopefully we will end up meeting more often!

Andy Goff has got the new website going and he has said that he will enter all email addresses from our mailing list here’s what Andy says will happen:

“I will upload all the users and will do so based on the recipients of this email, so everyone will receive an email from the trihards.org site with a username and password. This email may go into a  junk folder, so please watch out for this…  Once they’ve logged in, they will be able to change the password, add themselves to upcoming events by clicking the “I’m going” button next to each event or even add new events, and of course view the latest newsletter.”

It’s all very exciting, Thank you Andy and Graeme for developing the site!

Talking of pool swimming – it is that time of year to head back to the swimming pool – thank you Steve for sending the email about the Witney Masters. (email Steve B for more info on this)…

I would also like to suggest we start a weekly jaunt to one of the ‘Better’ pools – for lane swimming.. it is much more fun going with others!!   Can I suggest the 8.30 – 9.30pm Sunday evening slot at Witney pool again this year? (alternatively there is a morning slot from 8am on Sundays?) – I’d like to start going again each week – so please do let me know your preferences!

November 18th. Awards night and end of season Party!  Standlake (Oxford Downs) Cricket clubhouse. 6.30pm. Families welcome!
